problems in bore water
staining is a very common complaint
from many bores in many areas. We find
this a common complaint from some sand
spears on the Gold Coast in QLD. Iron
becomes a problem when it oxidises into
iron oxide (ie. rust!), ie. the water
normally comes out of the ground fairly
clear, and later it either changes colour
or it forms little orange/red "fuzzy"
bits that generally sink to the bottom.
Either way, this can cause unsightly
staining of both porous and fairly impervious
materials. It can also cause blockages
of drippers and sprinkler outlets. We
have very effective treatments for iron
in bore waters that causes staining,
using a combination of magnetic water
conditioning, aeration and filtration.
many cases, we find that the magnetic water
conditioners prevent the iron from
sticking and binding, and the problem
goes away. But in more severe cases, and
when dealing with very porous materials
(stonework, porous concrete, timber fences),
inside-the-house applications, and for
filling swimming pools, it becomes necessary
to actually remove the iron from the water.
also have very effective chemical treatments
for iron bacteria in bores, and for cleaning
out the slime and buildup that results
from iron bacteria.
iron and iron bacteria problems in bores
We have a very effective treatment and removal
system for iron, manganese and hydrogen
sulfide (rotten egg smell) which uses ozone
and filtration. It's extremely effective,
and it's simple to install and to operate.

treatment and filtration systems, and for
iron bacteria control chemicals.
